Description
Whether you are a seasoned participant, a lifeguard or just want to become an aquatic fitness instructor, this is the shallow & deep program is for anyone interested in facilitating a program for people with Common and Neuromuscular Movement Disorders such as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Huntington’s Disease, Brain Injuries, and other movement disorders.
This exercise design program will focus utilizing a variety of exercises and equipment to keep people moving at their own level of intensity and ability. All exercise design will be focused on helping the individual to improve functional activities of daily living known as ADL’S. We will review general assessments to provide a system of evaluating exercise choice, efficacy and progression.
This is an excellent entry level program. You will experience both theory (classroom) and practical (pool) applications to build a well-balanced program which includes exercises to target the cardiovascular system as well as balance the body with stretching, posture and strengthening exercises. We normally review primarily shallow water exercise inventory but since your therapeutic pool is both shallow & deep -we will add gentle exercise options for both water depths. All Candidates will have up to six months after the training to complete the examination process. All exams and marking templates are in the manual to help become successful as a Certified Instructor.
