Water Exercise & Exercise for People with Cancer
The role of exercise for persons living with, and recovering from, cancer and its treatment has been demonstrated to have tremendous benefit. This has been outlined in the Cancer Care Ontario Guideline Exercise for People with Cancer (2015). Moderate exercise which includes stretching, strengthening, balance , posture and the many forms of mind body exercises in water will be reviewed with tips on how to help people lving with cancer while on active treatment or post completion of treatment.
Functional Core Work for Water Fitness
Core training is an important part of all fitness programs and one that is desired by our participants. We will review the muscles of the core and their actions. We will then work on safe and effective core exercises in the pool that are functional for life on land. Learn fifty movement variations and techniques with and without a equipment to better provide multi-level options and opportunities for your clients.
Facilitated by Certified Master Trainer Amanda Sommer
Amanda is a Cancer Exercise Specialist at the Cancer Exercise Training Institute. She currently is the Wellness Director for Twin Lakes Community in NC. She has been actively involved in the fitness and wellness Industry since completing her degree in PE / Exercise Science at UNC- Chapel Hill. Amanda a completed licensure as a Massage Therapist in 2011 and uses the knowledge of how our bodies work to design safe and effective programs for all ages. She has been a Master Trainer for WaterART since 2005!

Course Registration Fee Includes
- 4 hours of Virtual Zoom guided practical training by Certified Master Trainer Amanda Sommer
- All you need is internet to link to the event with any device (no download required)

- Candidates are welcome to chat questions via Zoom at the end of session
- Additionally you receive online streaming via WaterART Fitness Educational App (when registration is paid and logged in) of the following videos for six months (Non Member) and unlimited viewing as long as you are Member:

- There are no quizzes for CEC’s when taking an virtual course. These courses are similar to onsite training with Master Trainer so they require no additional testing
