Warming up thoroughly and properly so that all joints are ready to go without pain or wear and tear is key to both safety and efficacy. Synovial fluid is released in the joints when you move gently and in a controlled manner. Moving at a lesser intensity and range of motion will actively prepare the joints for the exercise to come.
