Yoga is the linking of the mind and the body through the breath. Yoga is the union of mind, body and spirit (or the breath). The practice of yoga goes beyond your mat or in this case the chair. It is a way of living your live mindfully: being aware of your movements, thoughts and how you are breathing.

The chair can substitute for a yoga mat to allow you the freedom of practicing without getting up and down off the mat. It is the most accessible form of yoga because it can be done in a seat and is easy enough for all levels including exercise for the elderly. Be sure to use a solid chair that will not slip on the floor.
