HOW TO COMPLETE EXAM PROCESS FOR COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMS
The practical exam involves 5 case studies. This may take a lot of time, however, the process will help you as an Aquatic Personal Trainer become efficient and proficient. We recommend that you use yourself as your first practical case study. You may also utilize volunteers or friends and family as your other case studies. Based on your clients health history, water assessments and fitness goals, you will create 3 program cards for your clients ( week 1, 4, & 8 of their training program). The goal of the program cards are to provide quick reference for exercise progression or to help your client improve their performance and fitness. Your program card should reflect how the person did on their water assessment, what you are training as well as some techniques or exercises to motivate or achieve adherence to a program. Additionally, you create a counselling agreement and short business plan - to succeed with your new business.
One of your program cards OR weeks of training needs to be submitted via video (DVD or USB stick) so that we may see your ENTIRE practical training session. We provide a detailed report card of your skills and where you may need to improve your techniques.
All the paper work or assessment profiles are in the back of the manual. Additionally, upon purchase of the course, we will email you the paperwork to utilize to fast track your assessment paperwork & skills.
How To Complete the Certification Exams
All WaterART Certifications have up to six months to complete TAKE HOME exams after the training date. Any exams submitted after 6 months to a year are subject to a $35.00 administration fee / exam (theory and practical). If you do not complete the program within a year, you will need to re-do program without purchasing manual again.
Please assume these exams may take up to 25-40 hours to complete depending on your background and abillity to comprehend.
The theory exam is applied theory. There are study guide questions and answers in the back of the manual as well as the actual exam. You register and request advance shipping to review prior to course if you are wanting to complete the examination process as soon as possible.
The practical exam involves completing 5 case studies. We allow you to complete 2 assessments on yourself ( shallow and deep water depths as the protocols change). This may take a lot of time. The goal of the case study process will help the aquatic personal trainer become both efficient and proficient. You may choose to utilize volunteers who are friends and family as your other 3 case studies. That way there is not the stress of performing perfect case studies. You will learn by doing. After the assessment and health history profile, the personal trainer will create appropriate program cards for your clients ( week 1,4,8,). The goal is to show exercise progressions of program so that the individual's well being has improved. Additionally, the goal of program cards are to provide quick reference for exercise inventory in case of liability. Your program cards should reflect how the person did on their water assessment, what you are training as well as appropriate duration or sets/reps. To help a client improve their compliance or achieve adherence to a program, the personal trainer will write up a counseling agreement. To help the personal trainer achieve success, the personal trainer will write up a short business plan to succeed with the business of personal training.
When you pay for the course, we will email you the case study paperwork to utilize to fast track your assessment paperwork. There is also an additional copy printed in the back of the manuals. However you must not "lend " our paperwork to others as it is a liability to us all for non-trained individuals to utilize our protocols. The theory exam is
