This foundation general group exercise instructor training program will
provide new leaders with a system for designing aquatic
fitness programs for apparently healthy populations. We will review
program designs for both shallow and/or deep water depths. Instructors will
learn aquatic exercise science and programming for the many skills and
fitness levels that attend classes. By the end of the course
instructors will learn how to design training for cardiovascular
training, muscular fitness, flexibility, posture as well as personal
safety skills. This program will provide an excellent overview for teaching safe and effective exercise for both swimmers and non swimmers. Basic Skills, basic movements in shallow & deep water depths, techniques for modifying or progressing intensity will be examined.
Class design will provide new instructors with a template for teaching:Shallow H20 lesson planning, Deep H20 Lesson Planning, Teaching Shallow and Deep H20 depths simultaneously
This enhanced program comes with four video
tutorials (guided power point presentation by a Master Trainer). This will help candidates to learn how to design a successful program. WaterART highly recommends this foundation program (or Shallow H20 Instructor Certification if only teaching shallow depth) prior
to any other home study course. This is especially valuable for instructors who have never had an exercise science background.
Course materials include:

cross reference with the answers in the manual. The exam process
comprises a theory (written) exam and practical assessment (either by
submitting home video/DVD/flash drive of a 45-60 minute program showing a
full class as described in your class design, OR by completing a
successful onsite assessment with a Master Trainer.
The exam is
located at the end of the manual and all the criteria for exam
submission are itemized. You will have up to 6 months, from the date of
purchase, to complete the program that includes the theory and
practical. After six months there is a late submission fee for the
theory and/or the practical assessment. We do not accept exams after a
year. You will receive a diploma, laminated wallet size card, online

you complete onsite training or home study or combination of both, you will complete the same
Certification exams. All candidates must complete BOTH theory &
practical assessment for this comprehensive program.
HOW TO COMPLETE THE EXAM PROCESS:
The theory exam may be submitted via online exam & lesson plan upload. You request a private link to complete the 50 question multiple choice exam (simply email us for the link). Exam is quickly graded. Should you not have access to internet or be very skilled with exams you may request an open book practical theory exam that you may do at home and email the answers. This style of exam will take 2-4 weeks to mark with practical.
have 2 options for completing the practical assessment to complete your
Practical Assessment or Practical component to your Instructor
1) Upload a home video as written out on your lesson plan. The assessor will follow
the lesson plan along with your video submission. You may upload as many as 5 files (.MOV, MP4 ). You will teach and demonstrate a FULL class (45-60 minutes). You may be pretend to be teaching a class as if you are on deck. The exams and marking system for
the exam process is in the back of the manual.
Have an onsite assessment with a Master Trainer. In this scenario, the
person being assessed has to make it convenient for the assessor (i.e.
probably go to their location). Each onsite assessment takes
approximately 30 minutes. Note, that it is not necessary for the Master
Trainer to attend your entire class or program. When completing your
practical component via onsite assessment, you will have to complete the
competencies successfully, as described below.
The Onsite practical assessment with a Certified Master Trainer will include:
a couple of oral safety questions as well as teach specific to general
group exercise and apparently healthy populations.
Teaching a 5-10 minute warm up specific to safety guidelines to general group exercise or apparently healthy populations.
a 3-5 minute Cardio set specific to safety and efficacy guidelines
specific to general group exercise or apparently healthy populations.
two 3-5 minute Muscular Strength sets (be sure to perform enough sets
& reps or 3-5 sets of 8-25 repetitions) to general group exercise or
apparently healthy populations.
Teaching a 3-5 minute Warm Down specific to safety and efficacy guidelines.
Competencies are in the Manual; basically you are evaluated based on ( marking templates are included in manual)
1) Do you understand the exercise objective?
2) Can we see, hear and understand you?
3) Is the exercise safe, effective and enjoyable?
NOTE: The hard copy of the manual will be shipped as this is not available
via live streaming due to copyright and liability issues. If
