Description

This program is an advanced aquatic training program to teach individuals involved in rehabilitation developed by a physiotherapist. Candidates will require a superior understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and water exercise design -we recommend candidates have completed at least two levels of WaterART prior to enrolling in this course.  (Please note that instructors who are not registered therapists may not use the title “therapist”.) Seasoned instructors are an important part of the wellness continuum and this will educate you about the rehabilitation process.

This specific program is appropriate for post-rehabilitation sports enthusiasts and/or athletes.  We will review a variety of case studies during the course.

Prerequisites

In order to gain the most out of this program and become successful, the following  is highly recommended:

  1. To have completed at least 2 levels of WaterART Certification or equivalent
  2. Unless candidate holds one of the  following certifications: Registered Kin, Registered PT, RT, OT, AT or PTA.
  3. Should you not have the prerequisite we recommend that you do this training as a workshop for 16 hours or 16.0 CECs.

Please note that only Registered Allied Health Care Providers may utilize the term Therapist or Aquatic Therapist when they are certified and qualified. Other professional must work in the post rehabilitation field to stay within their scope of practice or take the program for more knowledge and continuing education credits.
