Working with buoyant resistance is much more challenging than this may look. Realize water is buoyant, then there is a buoyant piece of resistance and then the client may have more built in buoyancy or body fat to create a very challenging environment for both safety and efficacy. Review some exercises that are best suited to those who do want challenge and strength work and do not have any shoulder or neck issues. WaterART recommends that people with neck and shoulder problems carefully choose their upper body strength exercises not to aggravate that area. When in doubt start with one exercise then progress to adding more exercises -that way you may feel if the exercise benefits.

Intro To Anatomy V091 part 2 (66 minutes)

Having a good general knowledge of all joint and muscle action is an essential part of Post Rehabilitation programming. This Tutorial DVD power point presentation guided by Leigh de Groot Doctor Registered Physiotherapist ( RPT) gives professionals a complete overview of all joint biomechanics and the muscle action required to move through a safe range of motion.

Beginner Mobility Program V091 part 3 (56 minutes)

A picture is worth a thousand words. Follow WaterART Master Trainers Jane Pomponio and Julie Twynham as they take you through an inventory of movement essential to safe water programming for post rehabilitation clients who are new to water, new to exercise or both. All exercise movements are shown above and underwater with subtitles and detailed commentary for effective video training reference.

Shallow Water Exercises for those New to Exercise V091 part 4 (68 minutes)

Learn how to work one on one with a post rehabilitation client in shallow water. This video program illustrates how to get the client into the water safely and comfortably. Once in, the instructor and client work through an inventory of essential movement to train for function on land. This inventory includes safe and effective warm up movement, specific strengthening and stretching exercises and ideas for modifications for the wide variety of conditions that clients bring to the water.

Unloaded Water Exercises for those New to Exercise V091 part 5 (59 minutes)

This DVD is designed to help clients who need to begin their post rehabilitation without any loaded stress on their joints. The client is fitted with a belt to keep the feet off the pool floor. All movement can be done suspended in shallow water or taken to the deep end if the client has developed safe water skills. Exercises cover all components of fitness and show how to train the client to handle buoyancy, using instructor assistance at first, then, working solo as they feel comfortable. The client can be trained to use the resistance of water to assist travel as well as increasing resistance to add strengthening progressions as their condition improves. The goal is to provide balanced exercise that will provide benefits for their safe return to land.

Equipment Toolbox V091 part 6 (23 minutes)

There is a wide variety of equipment available for pool use, some floats while others sink. Which will be safe and effective to help your client? Take a look at the differences between buoyant and resistive equipment and the requirements for the many general post rehabilitation conditions that may come to your pool. Each exercise must be specific to the condition and be both safe and effective. See suggestions for targeting the same exercise with different pieces of equipment to help with choice.

**PLEASE NOTE** This is a good option for those candidates who are within their 2 year renewal time OR who have expired within one year from their expiry date.
