is employed at the Lloydminster Leisure Center as a Lifeguard & Instructor for approximately 6 years.
Diagnosed with rheumatoid and osteoarthritis at an early age she was told that she would be in a wheel chair by the age of 25.
Now in her mid 60’s and she has maintained an active lifestyle which includes: water fitness instructor for; movement disorders, parent & tots , both deep & shallow water classes including boot camp/abs. As well as a Red Cross Swim Instructor.
And most importantly -SHE is NOT in a wheel chair !
Apart from being an instructor, she is a competitive swimmer & since 2003 has qualified four times at a Provincial Level for the National Games.
This year (August 2012) she is off to Sydney Nova Scotia for the 55+ Senior Games.
Water exercise has been her salvation and interestingly enough - it is her life and career choice!
