Instructor Certification program:

This program is a research-based exercise design program for shallow depth. It provides leaders with functional techniques to design safe and effective programs for a variety of ages, skills and fitness levels. This foundation program will provide you with a complete overview of how to facilitate motivational & enjoyable group exercise program. You will experience both theory (classroom) and practical (pool) applications to build a well-balanced program. NO Experience necessary – just a love of the water and fitness.

Full Certification Registration fee includes:

Comprehensive Manual with study guide questions & answers,
8 hours of lecture & pool time
DVD001-The Art of Exercise Science
DVD003- Beginner Muscles & Noodles
PLUS 8 laminated pool cards
Study Guide Questions & Answers, WaterART Certification Exam (theory & practical),
16.0 CEC’s for AFPA, YMCA, WaterART, AEA. & you may petition ACE & AFAA.

The theory exam is completed via a take home exam that you have up to FOUR months to complete. The practical exam may be completed either via an onsite assessment or DVD/video submission. You may decide at the course how you would like to complete the training. If you think that you may want to complete practical onsite, please order materials in advance.

HOW WE GET THERE.
You will purchase your own travel to Cancun. There are lots of shuttles that will drive you to the resort ( 1 1/2 hour south). Another option is to hire your own taxi or go via shuttle with your group. We will leave by 12:00 noon on the Monday, Nov 1, 2010 & return 9:00 am Nov 8th, 2010.

WHAT ARE THE AMENITIES
All rooms are located very near the beach. Access to the bay, beach, pool are just steps away. There are bungalows or a hotel. There also are options to upgrade to a hotel or bring a group to a condo. Lots of fitness fun: swimming, fitness, walking, hiking, snorkeling, scuba, turtle sanctuary & much more!

Walk on the Wellness Side in Paradise. But dont worry we are NOT leaving out the fun. Like everything good in life this trip embraces moderation. We will offer workouts and great activities throughout the day but we also are not about to leave out the happy hours, great meals and salsa dancing.

Join us for a week in Akumal. Akumal is officially 50 this year and if you are about to or have faced that milestone you know what a big deal it can be. Lets embrace Akumal half century mark and celebrate.

When: The last week of Nov 1-8, 2010 ( *** you may choose to stay longer or shorter)

What: A week full of fun fitness activities and great company at a marvelous spot in paradise. Water Instructors will have the opportunity to get their continuing education credits during the week while non-instructors will get a chance to take some great classes from some of the best instructors in North America, at no additional cost.

Why: Everyone needs to walk on the wellness side and treat themselves to something that is just good for you! Water instructor will have the added benefit of getting your Continued Education Credits through WaterART Fitness International ( credits will cost extra). We encourage instructors to bring your whole class along for the week.

Where: Akumal, Mexico on the Caribbean coast, nestled in a peaceful bay surrounded by the Mesoamerican Coral Reef,

How: Join our group for a week full of fun fitness; such as, a variety of water fitness classes, beach walks, snorkeling, yoga, salsa dancing, spa treatments and more. Learn fitness and nutritional tips and enjoy the company of others who want to mix fitness with their fun. Side tour are available for a additional cost.

A typical day during the week may begin with a brisk sunrise walk on the beach and/or yoga class, a healthy breakfast al fresco, water fitness class, nutritional or cooking tips class, snorkeling in the bay. Lunch with an incredible view. Side trip to a cenote, the ruins, or relax under a palm tree and soak up the beauty of paradise. That evening we may have a salsa class during happy hour followed by dinner under the stars.

Costs will include ground transportation, most meals, basic fitness activities and accommodations. If you BOOK NOW and PAY your DEPOSIT by the end of May we will give you an amazing . Side tour are available for a additional cost as well as spa treatments. We can help you with travel insurance. Package does not include airline transportation. WaterART Fitness International charges for credits will be paid separately. Only Water Instructors taking the courses for credit will be charged, people may attend water fitness classes for no additional charge.

This program will help you to apply advanced scientific principles to individual training whether training for small group or for one on one programming. By understanding a clients baseline you will learn how to program specifically for shallow or deep water. You will learn how to progress each exercise for a varied clientele utilizing many types of equipment & techniques. We will review case studies to better understand programming for a variety of clientele with unique skills, body compositions, and goals. This program involves learning water fitness assessments or protocols to better understand programming for specific needs utilizing a variety of equipment and techniques. The manual provides templates to fast track your services along.

Registration fee includes:

DVD019- Posture Analysis and Programming without equipment;

The theory exam is applied theory. There is study guide questions and answers in the back of the manual. You may email us the answers OR mail the exam with the case studies.

The practical exam involves 5 case studies. This may take a lot of time, however, the process will help you as an Aquatic Personal Trainer become efficient and proficient. We recommend that you use yourself as your first practical case study. You may also utilize volunteers or friends and family as your other case studies.

Based on their health history, goals and water assessments, you will create 3 program cards for your clients ( week 1, 4, & 8). The goal of the program cards are to provide quick reference for exercise progression or to help your client improve their performance and fitness. Your program card should reflect how the person did on their water assessment, what you are training as well as some techniques or exercises to motivate or achieve adherence to a program. Additionally, you create a counselling agreement and short business plan - to succeed with your new business.
One of your program cards needs to be video taped or put on a DVD so that we may see your practical training skills.

All the paper work or assessment profiles are in the back of the manual. Additionally after the course, we will email you the paperwork to utilize to fast track your assessment paperwork & skills.
